A day in the life

A chemical engineering technologist, often referred to as a chemical operator or process technician, monitors, controls, and troubleshoots automated chemical processes. Graduates will have the skills to perform vital functions in a variety of facilities such as chemical manufacturing, food production, nuclear processing, petrochemical, and waste management.

Three reasons to consider this program.

  1. You like hands-on activities and working with machines.
  2. You enjoy chemistry and learning the big picture of how processes affect each other.
  3. The program is closely aligned to needs of employers in the area.

Before you sign up, make sure you understand...

  1. Employers work closely with this program. Make a good impression at all times.
  2. Chemical engineering technology requires focus and attention to detail.
  3. The college also has a chemical engineering technology certificate program, which takes less time. Starting salaries in the certificate program tend to be lower.
