Dewayne McGhee, Director
Dewayne McGhee has served as director of the Cumberland County Center since August 2023. Previously, he worked as a U.S. history teacher and coach with Cumberland County Schools.
McGhee is a former Roane State Raider, having started his higher education journey here after graduating from Cumberland County High School. He said the smaller class sizes and the many familiar faces he encountered made it a good fit for him.
After he completed his Roane State course work, McGhee transferred to Tennessee Tech to obtain a bachelor’s degree in business administration. His passion for history and a desire to teach then led him to pursue a master’s degree in secondary education.
McGhee’s role at RSCC Cumberland County is spent both on and off the campus by managing dual enrollment within area schools, working with the college’s recruiting department, and engaging regularly with companies to best understand workforce priorities.

About Us
The 30,000 square foot facility is located off I-40 at exit 320 in Crossville, TN, gateway to the Big South Fork National River and Recreational Area. The Cumberland County Center, first occupied in the fall of 1998, now serves over 1,000 students annually. Classes are offered in many formats: face-to-face, hybrid, online, and interactive classrooms. In addition, the Cumberland County Center offers learning support and free tutoring through the Learning Resource Center.
