The goal of the Roane State CITC in Networking is to produce networking professionals who are effective in managing the network infrastructure of any organization by using hardware and software skills in its design, maintenance, and protection. Networking graduates are versed in installing, managing, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows servers in data centers, including on-premise and hybrid environments. They also master skill sets that will prepare them to pass COMPTIA Server+ certification.
Our networking graduates will master networking technology, hardware, virtualization, and cloud computing. On the protection side, graduates will learn the skills to protect infrastructures of their organization including servers, firewalls, switches and routers in a real lab. They master skill sets that will prepare them not only to pass COMPTIA Networking+ certification, but also COMPTIA Security+ certification.
They are also effective in managing all the lifecycles of any desktop support systems. That includes recognizing different network hardware and their purposes, managing device hardware from cables to peripherals, working with virtual machines and cloud computing. They also master skill sets that will prepare them to pass COMPTIA A+ certification.
