The Medical Laboratory Technology Program provides quality didactic and clinical education and instruction in clinical laboratory sciences. The program prepares graduates to function as competent entry-level professionals in laboratory testing. Medical laboratory Technicians perform analytical tests on human body fluids and tissues, providing data essential for diagnosis, treatment, and management of disease or for the maintenance of wellness.
Admission Policies for Allied Health Sciences A.A.S. Degrees
In addition to meeting the general requirements for the college and the Allied Health Sciences programs, applicants to the Medical Laboratory Technology program must:
1. Complete with a "C" or greater, or currently have in progress, the following courses by the application deadline:
2. College credit for BIOL 2010 (A&P I), BIOL 2020 (A&P II) and BIOL 2230 (Microbiology) must be within 8 years of starting the program with a minimum grade of “C” or higher.
3. Must be 18 years old by the application deadline as published on the program webpage.
4. Complete all program application requirements by the application deadline (or have currently in progress). This includes the review of the MLT Applicant Handbook.
Eligibility for admission does not imply or guarantee admission to the program. All students meeting minimum criteria will be considered competitively, using the published applicant ranking tool.
