Research at the Tamke-Allan Observatory Although the primary mission is to educate both the student and general public to astronomy, research concerning deep sky photography with modern ultra-high speed film and the CCD camera is being conducted by some students and ORION (a very active local astronomy club). Our primary research thrust will concern asteroids--locating any near-Earth orbiters and reporting their location to several organizations including the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, a clearing house for astronomical phenomena.
