Course Description
Fundamentals of Respiratory Care IV introduces students to special therapeutic and diagnostic procedures in Respiratory Care. Elements of home care to include: equipment, patient/environmental assessment, and state/federal regulations. Theory and introduction to special diagnostics such as bronchoscopy, stress testing, pulmonary rehabilitation, metabolic studies, and pulmonary function studies will also be included. Patient education methods will be introduced. Care of patients in the subacute care area will also be introduced (3 Lecture hrs/week). Sp (Prerequisites: Admission to the Respiratory Care program, completion of Reading, Writing, and Math Learning Support, if required)
